A Marine’s Final Expenses

Donation protected
William Benjamin Reams passed away on December 5, 2020 due to complications of pneumonia. Will went into septic shock on November 13, 2020 and was flown from Baptist Health in Corbin to the VA Hospital in Lexington were he was on life support for 22 days before the VA ICU team called our family in and let us know all options had been exhausted. It ripped our hearts straight out of our chest to disconnect the life support, but we reverted back to “What would Will want if he were ever in this condition.” He passed peacefully on December 5, 2020 at the young age of 38 years of life. Will was buried at McDaniel Cemetery on December 8, 2020. William Benjamin Reams was a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps where he served our great country for four years. He then retained a position with the Federal Buearu of Prisons where he served 10+ years tirelessly. Will was then forced into an early retirement from the BOP where he was 100% service connected due to multiple injuries through the VA. Will left two sons behind, Tate Reams & Kason Reams that will always be reminded of the man Will was in his earthly life. Will left his mother, two brothers, and a host of people all over the country to mourn his passing. Due to Will’s unexpected death we have been swamped with all the financial expenses, including his funeral expenses that still remain unsettled. Because Will was service connected the VA is going to pay 20% of the funeral expenses to ease some of the financial burden. Will loved his country. Will loved his kids and his family, and Will loved all of you. Will was the type of man that would give you the shirt off his back if he knew you needed it. As a family, we still can’t foresee tomorrow without him and we are struggling to accept the hand we’ve been dealt. We are so PROUD of Will’s accomplishments and Will was too proud to ever ask for help. If you would like to donate to help with Will’s funeral expenses, we would be forever grateful. If you don’t feel comfortable donating through GOFUNDME, you can donate directly to Bowling Funeral Home in London, Kentucky. Donations will be made directly to William Benjamin Reams funeral expenses. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We know times are tough right now, but any little bit will help. Thank you! #Semper Fi #Until Valhalla
