Elle girl

Hey everyone, it’s been a tough year for a lot of us, and I don’t think I could’ve gotten through it like I did without my furbabies. Elle is the sweetest chocolate lab and the biggest fighter I know. Four years ago we found out she had heart complications at 8 weeks old, and the breeder failed to follow through on any support or reimbursement for improper breeding and vaccinations. After moving to Spokane she was diagnosed with a mitral valve disease and appeared to be doing fine for a while. This past October she began to have flare ups with her heart and lungs, sending her to the ER Vet. Her heart was over working itself, causing it to swell and her heart rate to rise. She also experienced fluid around her lungs that made it difficult for her to breathe while she attempted to cough. We’re aware that she can go in to cardiac arrest at any time, but we want her to live as comfortably as possible for as long as she can. She is currently on 3 different medications: Pimobendan, Diltiazem, and Furosemide. I have been hesitant on setting up a GoFundMe or seeking any assistance, although some family members have been more than generous to offer and my dad’s help in covering the first ER visit. But sadly Elle has started to flare up again, last night being the worst and has us extremely worried. She’ll be revisiting her vet to determine the next step, maybe to adjust her medications, but she may be kept for a period if her symptoms don’t let up.
