Help Ginger walk again

Hello, and thank you for visiting this gofundme page! My name is Leonora, and I adopted my sweet pup Ginger a little over a year ago at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care and Control. Ginger was surrendered due to her previous owner leaving her in a hot car. If you have met Ginger, you’ll know about her lively and spunky personality, and her sheep-like appearance. She is a fluffy dachshund-poodle mix who loves to chase squirrels and play with her little bro Charlie. Ginger loves to lay in the sun and snores pretty loud when she sleeps. These are just a few of the things that I love about her. On Christmas Eve we had to take Ginger to an emergency veterinary office because she was experiencing pain in her hind legs and was losing her ability to walk. The vet told us that she was showing all of the symptoms of a herniated disk and that she would need to get an MRI to get a better look at her spine. Herniated disks are common for her breed, but we hope it is just a pulled muscle. We are unsure how she injured herself, but these accidents are unpredictable and can happen when a dog jumps off of the couch or a bed. A MRI scan is priced at $2,000, and her surgery could cost upwards of $3,000. We are hoping to raise enough money for her MRI. Getting this scan would allow her vet to check if she has a spinal injury and if she will need surgery. Any donations will make a difference for us.
