In April 2016, Shane and I suffered a huge set back when we received 8 inches of water during the Tax day flood in April 2016.
In February 2017, a tree branch fell on our home requiring a new roof... which was being put on when Hurricane Harvey decided to impact the Gulf Coast.
Now, again, August 2018, Hurricane Harvey with his rain, has taken much more. He has taken our ENTIRE home with all that was salvaged from the first flood and our new kitchen. It left us with about 6 feet of water in the home . Cypress Creek flooding due to the continuous rain. We are down stream... so all of the rain from Waller, Hockley, and Cypress drains down behind our home. We were just within a few weeks from being done and being able to move back in after over a year... but not any more. Now with Hurricane Harvey flooding us... we DO NOT receive the final check for our renovations from the flood #1 . This is such devestating news on top of this disaster.
Thank goodness we have insurance but the deductibles are extremely high. 10,000 for dwelling and 5,000 for replacing contents. We know so may of you have asked what you can do to help and this would be a REALL Y BIG way. The money is going to be used to get the deductible paid and any other expenses we need to rebuild our life/home.
We also want to thank ALL of you for the support, help, words of encourage, and most of all love during the past year and now again during this trying time. We are so fortunate to have you all in our lives.
We will keep all the funds in a savings account in Cy-Fair Credit Union until the Liberty Mutual (the insurance company) needs the deductible.
