Betsy Williams & Kim Madlom - Lost Home in Bombing

Donation protected
Before dawn on Christmas morning, my friend Graham, who was visiting his family in Nashville for the holiday, including moms Betsy Williams and Kim Madlom along with his Great Aunt June, were all awoken by the sound of gunfire on their downtown Nashville street. After they heard it again a few minutes later, they called police. Shortly after hearing a third burst of gunfire, they then began hearing a recorded message apparently coming from an RV parked on the street right outside of their building, urging anyone who could hear the message to evacuate because there was a bomb. They took it extremely seriously after a fifteen minute countdown started over that loudspeaker. They quickly grabbed what they could, jumped in their car in their pajamas and drove across the river to wait out the timer. When more time had passed than the timer suggested, they decided it must be a hoax after all and started to return home, only to watch a fireball engulf their street after that RV exploded. Thankfully all four of them are safe, but they’ve lost their home and nearly all of their belongings. In what had already been a brutal year for those involved in the hospitality industry secondary to covid19, they now find themselves grateful for their lives, but with no insurance to cover anything and little else to start rebuilding their lives. They are staying in a hotel for the time being, but could use some help getting back on their feet after this freak, and as yet unexplained, tragic event on Christmas morning. More information can be heard/seen here (this is Betsy Williams, who, together with Kim Madlom, lived at this residence and escaped the blast with their son and aunt): https://www.cnn.com/videos/us/2020/12/25/betsy-williams-nashville-explosion-witness-sot-nr-vpx.cnn ***All proceeds go directly to Betsy and Kim to help them rebuild their lives. I have set this up on behalf of Betsy, who is the mother of my husband’s best friend, in order to help organize for them at this difficult time. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for anything that you can spare. Please share far and wide.
