Hi, I'm Kaja Rebane. You may also know me as "Lady Liberty" from Democracy Spring, where I was arrested on the steps of the US Capitol. Or maybe as a labor activist, tar sands pipeline fighter, or just that grad student you met years ago who is somehow still (!) in school.
I recently agreed to serve on the Credentials Committee at the Democratic National Convention this July as a representative of Bernie Sanders. When someone charges that a Sanders delegate should be disqualified, that's the committee that decides whether that delegate gets to vote. It's an important job, and I take it very seriously.
I'm also looking forward to meeting others interested in improving how the Democratic Party works. I played a leading role in getting the Democratic Party of Wisconsin on record calling for abolishment of the superdelegate system. I'd like to continue that conversation in Philadelphia.
To do these things, however, I need to both get to Philly and spend five days at a pricey convention.
If you can help me do this, I will be incredibly grateful. I'm asking for $27, the size of Bernie's average donation. If 89 folks pitch in this amount, I'll be set. (Of course, larger and smaller donations will also be gratefully accepted).
