Raj Family Support

Anand and Christy Raj learned they were pregnant with their fourth child in March. These past few weeks, they've tirelessly been preparing for the arrival of baby Abigail and were planning a home birth. Christy was healthy and she, Anand, and their three children were excited for Abigail's arrival near the end of December.

Late afternoon on Sunday, 12/20/20, Christy went into a quick labor and unfortunately experienced a major health complication. After being transported to the hospital, Baby Abigail was born via emergency c-section but is currently unable to breathe on her own. Tragically, after a tremendous amount of care from the hospital staff, Christy passed away and is now in the presence of Jesus.

Abigail was transferred to Randall's Children's Hospital in Portland, OR late on 12/20 and while she fought as hard as she could, she tragically passed away on 12/26/20.

In this moment, we mourn this loss, but not as those who have no hope—we mourn knowing there is a better story; while today we grieve, Christy is currently experiencing the greatest day of her life—full and complete joy in the arms of her loving Heavenly Father. She is seeing Jesus face to face. Contemplate the beauty of that reality. It is simply amazing.

Together, let us lift up the Raj family in our prayers. Together, let us help walk this tragic journey with the Raj family. As Anand navigates the next steps, we ask that you respect their privacy. To minimize his need to respond to a myriad of personal communication, please use the CaringBridge website (https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/rajfamily) to leave encouraging notes and prayers.

The Raj's immediate needs are taken care of but will need financial support to help cover medical bills, funeral expenses, travel expenses for family, and living expenses so Anand can take additional time off from work.

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.  Psalm 34:18

Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.  1 Thessalonians 4:13-14

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too. 2 Corinthians 1:3-5
