My mom is in constant pain. I am trying to help her.
My name is Michael Sturdivant. For those of you who do not know, in the last seven years my mom has undergone 5 major neck/spine surgeries, the last one being just last week. Even before the surgery she would not be able to work sometimes because the pain was so agonizing. Now with another extensive unpaid leave, it leaves our family feeling hopeless on how to help my mother, who has to use a walker to walk, and how to survive financially. My mom is off without pay and will have to pay her benefits during recovery. I wish there was more I could do to help, but due to an ankle/foot injury I am unable to work and contribute to my family. I hope this gofundme will be able to help relieve some emotional and financial stress so she can just focus on recovering. We can only hope she can get a break from these excruciating surgeries but with cervical bone disease and inflammatory arthritis, it most likely won’t be her last. Even after all she has been through she continues to stay positive for all of us. I am so grateful for my mother, she has done so much for me, so now it’s my turn to be there for her.
