Blas Hernandez

Age 88, late of Lockport passed away peacefully on Monday, December 21, 2020. Born and raised in Willow Springs, IL., and a resident of Locport for many years. A proud United States Korean War Army Veteran. Blas was an avid gardener, loved the outdoors and reading the paper; but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margarita (Nee Lopez) Hernandez 2008; his parents, Alfonso and Flora (Nee Carrillo); a brother, Leo Rodriguez; and one sister, Maria Rodriguez.

Survived by his devoted daughter, Bianca (Michael Zitzka) Hernandez; one cherished granddaughter, Zoe Zitzka; his niece, Elvira Zamora; and nephews, David, Art (Carol) and Tony Lopez.

Services will be held in the O'Neil Funeral Home chapel 1105 E. 9th St., Lockport, IL., 60441 on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at 10:00am. Interment following services at Lockport City Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at the funeral home from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.
