Dixie Kong’s Emergency Fund

Donation protected
Recently our sweet Savannah cat, Dixie Kong, became ill. It all started with a slight decrease in appetite and has progressed to her not eating anything at all. She was taken into her vet for initial bloodwork and x-rays as well as IV fluid therapy and medications. The bloodwork showed mild dehydration and the x-ray looked normal. The next day she had an appetite and ate some boiled chicken but was taken to a specialist for an abdominal ultrasound to make sure nothing was missed. The ultrasound didn’t show any sign of GI obstruction, but they did find a cyst on her left kidney, so we thought her not feeling well was caused by that. We brought her back home and continued to monitor her. The next few days Dixie was eating a little bit of food every morning and night. She wasn’t eating an adequate amount for herself but I took it as a sign that she was on the mend. However, 2 days later she stopped eating again. I offered her many different foods to try to get her to eat - it was no use. We then took her back to our vet where she received another full day of fluids as well as a pain medication injection, antibiotic injection and anti nausea injection. We were also feeding her food through a syringe to try to give her nourishment. That night I brought her home and continued to give her fluids through her IV. The next morning I had not seen any improvement in her condition. In fact she looked like she was doing even worse. Currently she is at the ER vet being hospitalized. They repeated bloodwork and x-rays and are concerned there is something in her stomach preventing it from emptying. She is going to have surgery where the doctor will explore inside her abdomen for any causes. We love all of our pets greatly and do whatever it takes to keep them healthy. This ordeal has been costly, so we are starting this fundraiser to try to help with all of the vet bills. If you are able to donate, even a dollar, we would be so grateful. If not that is okay, Dixie is getting the care she needs. We would also appreciate sharing this with your friends.
