Help Kayla(16) & Cam(13)support their family of 10

Yesterday I met a young lady who came into my workplace offering to sell gift baskets that she made herself! She explained she had used her last paycheck from a shoe store to purchase the items she used to make the baskets. 16year old Kayla is 1 of a family of 10! My husband and I were in admiration of this young lady and her selfless quest to pull Christmas together for her siblings. We asked her to return the next day around the same time to buy baskets from her. Back story: My husband and I had been praying for a family to bless this holiday season. We are faithful believers in Jesus Christ, we know first hand the power of God and what he has done in our lives that it’s very important to us to bless others whenever possible. Before we were saved we struggled with drugs, alcohol, and toxic relationships. God came into our lives and today we are fully committed to helping others. This young girl impressed us and touched our hearts we decided the next day when she would return to bless her beyond her request to buy a gift basket! The next day Kayla was to return around 1:00, she didn’t show. We again prayed and asked God “if this is the family we are supposed to bless in your name Lord she will come” around 3pm Kayla walked in the door and we knew instantly what we needed to do! She explained she lives in DHS and had to take the bus with several transfers and carrying this heavy box full of goods over the bridge and a long way to our commercial building in Palm Desert! Coincidentally?...I think not! She was an answer to our prayers! My husband and I decided to take the young girl and her brother who had also been selling to raise money for their family down to Walmart and let them choose gifts for their siblings. They were so conservative and worried about the money we would spend for all 10 of them. They carefully picked gifts for each members of their family. And when my husband asked what did you get for yourselves? They replied “it’s not about us, it’s about them!” My husband again moved by the hearts of these young kids pulled money from his wallet and placed in their hands and said this is for you! When we got to the register and my husband finished paying for the items, Kayla turned to me with the biggest tears in her eyes and said thank you! We held each other and cried. The company we work for Kings Remediation, again a company built on prayers and faith, replaced Kaylas paycheck in card full of the love of Gods word for her and her family. We were all so moved and inspired by these two young people just working so hard to bless their family helping with rent and caring for their siblings all year and especially on Christmas! I hope this story touches others and that these two get recognition for their hard work and dedication to family!
