Tunica Humane Society Vet Bills

Donation protected
Since July of 2012, the Tunica Humane Society has faced mounting vet bills because their budget was slashed in half. Because they have taken in dogs that are very ill, (such as Penny), or needed surgery (such as Noel), this shelter's vet bills have been staggering. When Penny was dropped off on Fri. Feb. 28, she was started on worming meds, but then she crashed. By Saturday, Penny was losing her battle. She spent two nights at the Emergency Center in Memphis and her tiny body was slammed with parasites. As soon as she was stable enough, her foster Mom and Dad picked her up and took her to Central Animal Clinic where she is being cared for by Dr. Pam Chandler. On March 4, Penny had to have a plasma transfusion but by that evening, she was doing a little better. These are the types of serious illnesses that this shelter sees in dogs and cats who receive no medical care before they are dropped off at the shelter or are found homeless on the streets. Donations towards this shelter's vet fees are very much appreciated.

The Tunica Humane Society is a no-kill shelter that is registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Contributions to the Tunica Humane Society are tax-deductible.
