Elderly Widow of WWII Vet Loses Everything in Fire

Hello everyone, for those of you who don’t know me, my name is Isabella Anzivino, and I’m writing this on behalf of my grandmother, Dorothy Holder.
Tragically on, Wednesday December 16th, my grandmother, long time Gainesville resident, Dorothy (93), was victim to a house fire that left her family home destroyed. Dorothy was home alone during the time of the fire, and thankfully made it out without harm. Unfortunately her cat passed away in the fire and all of her personal belongings were destroyed.
In this time of unexpected tragedy, we’ve had so many reach out to us offering help and asking what there is to do. I’ve created this go fund me page to help my grandmother with her immediate needs.
Over the past 55 years, The Holder Home has served as a safe haven for friends, family and anyone in between. Dorothy and her late husband Carl, have always been the type of people ready to help others no matter what the trouble was. Carl and Dorothy were life long caregivers, in many ways. Together they cared for countless children, cared for many in sickness, and held hands of loved ones through death.
In life, Carl was a woodworker who built many beautiful pieces for families in the community. Not only was carl a woodworker, but a WWII veteran in Pattons army.
Anyone who knows The Holders know that they are not the type to ask for handouts, help, or anything of the sort. They’ve always been 100% self-sufficient and if they needed a job done they would do it themselves. Unfortunately, this time this is not some thing that my grandmother can do on her own.
We are extremely thankful for everyone who’s already reached out to us, and everybody who wants to help.
