‼️ URGENT MEDICAL NEED ‼️ MY SURVIVAL DEPENDS ON THIS TREATMENT ‼️

Hey, y’all my name is Lu’ki. I am a chronically ill 2S mixed Indigenous person and I’m currently experiencing financial hardship and medication insecurity. I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer almost 3 years ago. I have received several rounds of chemotherapy with recurrences after a few months, maximum. Recently, it was suggested that I begin maintenance chemotherapy.

‼️UPDATED INFO‼️

ABOVE IS THE BEGINNING OF MY ORIGINAL STORY DESCRIPTION. Since then there have been MANY new developments/changes in my cancer journey & treatment.

After +/- 5 months on maintenance I received bad news after one of my scans: 2 new tumors had grown in my abdomen. The rate at which they grew was a little alarming, and I found out quickly that my cancer had become “platinum resistant”. Platinum is the main/active compound in the chemo med I had been on off and on since my diagnosis. There was always the looming chance that my cancer would become platinum resistant, but like had been hoping it would f happen. However, it happened and so we needed to decide on a new course of treatment.

I was switched to a new oncologist to begin immunotherapy. I am very happy with the change in my doctor. His views on “alternative medicine” (aka traditional and herbal meds) are in line with my own, which is very important to me. I feel consistently seen and heard in a medical setting for the first time.

I began immunotherapy and my body has been responding well. I also began receiving targeted radiation therapy in order to more quickly shrink those two tumors. The tumors began to shrink quickly, but radiation therapy has been discontinued as of this past Monday due to some adverse affects that were not conducive with my continued healing.

‼️CURRENTLY‼️

I am continuing on with my primary immunotherapy medication (Keytruda) and two additional medications are being added to my treatment (Avastin and cyclophosphamide).
