Update: 9/5: My living situation in WI ended over Labor Day weekend. I got a couch surf situation in IL, and am working to get back on track. I'm having to start over on the job search and need help to complete the paperwork on the donated car and insurance, and a bit more if possible to cover food and gas for now. All help will be appreciated at this time.
Update late August:
A running car was donated. That helps the job search a lot. I've been made aware that what little winter clothing I have is inadequate for the below zero weather and snow. If my job search gets drawn out, I'd appreciate help getting winter gear like good gloves, boots, etc. I couldn't bring out a lot of clothing to the Midwest, so I'm short on even pants, I mainly have stuff suited for California weather. I hope I'm working well before that and can buy winter gear on my own, but I've been told autumn and winter will be coming sooner than I had thought.
Been in Midwest about 4 months, job search resulted in part time work with potential, but my living situation is potentially fluid. I couldn't bringcar with me so that affects my employability, opportunities with the new job, and being in a place far from old friends and family, it gives me few options for shelter if I have to move on. I'm hoping for contributions towards a vehicle, and if not, enough for a reserve to be able to return to California if things don't work out.
I've put up a 4/10 update, I'm nearly done with all the details of a relocation to the Midwest in two weeks! Please help, I'm very excited about it, and hope it's the final step out of homelessness.
