Unicorn needs help with medical bill.

Donation protected
Update.. David, after healing from his accident for four months, was recently re-admitted to the hospital because his tibial fracture was not, in fact, healing at all. Because of David's tibial non-union, David had to have another surgery that was just as invasive, including the installation of more hardware and requiring another four months of recovery. David is progressing at a faster rate than his first surgery but is still not able to work his full schedule and is still struggling to pay rent and bills. Thanks to past generosity here on GoFundMe.com, he has been able to pay off two radiology bills and keep his head above water. David is still reaching out to the community for help and support until he can literally get back on his feet. Please donate if you can, as every little bit helps. Please also share this page so that David's reach extends beyond his immediate friends and communities. Thank you for your time and generosity.

For those of you who might not know...

On January 24th, David Salazar (Poolboy) got in a car accident and broke his leg. He was biking home on East 5th Street near the intersection of Brazos, when he was run off the road by a swerving car and broke his leg when he struck a parked car. The car didn't stop, but thankfully a bike taxi picked him up. David has a compound fracture of his right tibia. He's had reconstructive surgery and now has a metal rod in his leg going the length of his tibia. Recovery is very painful and will take at least three months.
David is a long-time Austinite, upstanding member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Boys and Girls Club facilitator, and welder. He's contributed to this world by organizing and building several large public works of art and may have at some time been your exterminator, Thunder Cloud sub maker, or bartender.
The bills associated with this accident are piling up! David has been able to resume his part time job, but has been unable to fill his regular bartending shifts, which means he has been unable to make rent. David was also uninsured at the time of the accident and, despite applying for local support programs, his bills will still far exceed his current means. Therefore, David is reaching out to the community to request any support in order to help overcome this difficult time.
