Help Ellen and Hannah on the road to recovery

Hi everyone, as many of you already know I traveled From California to Vermont in October to visit my mother after nearly a year of not seeing her due to Covid-19. Within a week of our visit I noticed my mom seemed more tired than normal and didn’t seem herself so I urged her to make a doctors appointment. At 9 pm on a Thursday we got a frantic call from the doctor she had seen that day telling us to get in a car and go to the ER IMMEDIATELY. She was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia two days later and began round the clock chemo one day after her diagnosis. The past 6 or so weeks she has lived in the hospital frequently undergoing chemo and went from being a normal healthy person to a high risk cancer patient in a day. For the first month I was able to be there with her everyday. However, the second month due to Covid numbers rising, visitors were no longer allowed at the hospital so I had to return to California, saying goodbye to my mom for I had no idea how long, through a hospital window. The entire time I was in Vermont visiting her I had to pay for car rentals, hotel rooms and food as I had to stay in isolation in the hotel across the street from the hospital. Not only was it mentally exhausting to be so alone but the amount of money that was spent just to exist in isolation was crazy so when I was informed I could no longer see my mom I went home. Yesterday I got the call that my mom was able to do out patient treatments after almost 2 months in the hospital so I am returning to be with her and take care of her as we await her bone marrow transplant which is the last piece of the puzzle to her making a full recovery from this. I am still hoping to be her donor for that surgery but currently we are playing the waiting game on what the next few months will look like. If you know my mom, you know she is unbelievably strong and has already endured a lot and if anyone could beat this it is her. We are creating this GoFundMe as an aid to helping us both through this whole nightmare. I have left both of my jobs and my home I still pay rent for to be with my mother and take care of her in Vermont. Days before going to Vermont In early October I was in a bad car accident and my car was totaled and my insurance didn’t cover repair so In the midst of this, I had to buy a new car as well. This money will help us with plane tickets, gas money, medical bills, car expenses, living costs, caretaking expenses for my mother, previous hotel and rental expenses and anything else as it comes up. This has been an extremely rough year for everyone and that makes it even harder to ask for help but we could really use all the help we could get. These last couple months have been terrifying, especially after losing my dad in 2019 but we are pushing forward dealing with the worse case scenario hoping for the best possible outcome. Thank you to everyone who sends us their love and support.
