Help Santos reopen!

Santos Hernandez has not had it easy these past few years. In 2014 is wife of 18 years, Maricela, lost her 6-year battle with cancer leaving him a single father of three. Before his wife got sick, and even during her illness, they ran a family business out of an abandoned gas station (where they also lived) selling produce, plants and flowers. A short while after his wife died, the landlord decided to develop the property which left Santos homeless and without income. As a close family friend, I Linda – a retired bilingual speech pathologist, stepped in to help raise the children so that he at least knew his family would be cared for.
For the past two years since his wife’s death, Santos has been working 12-hour days, 7 days a week at swap meets, selling organic produce that he grows on a small piece of rented land. Without an established store he has just been able to earn enough for food, rent and basic necessities.
However, now he has the opportunity to go back to his and his wife’s dream and reopen the shop but he needs support from the community. The landlord wants Santos back on his newly developed property, so much so that he has agreed to customize the interior. To reach the finish line and achieve his goal, all he needs is a little money for starting inventory and two months rent.
Santos needs the money by November 1. We would greatly appreciate any contribution big or small.
