Emotional Support Animal (ESA) for Kayla

Dogs heal. Paws touch lives in ways that cannot be explained. We need them just as much as they need us and I need your support for the adoption fee to get an ESA. Here is my story: As most of you know, I was diagnosed with multiple incurable chronic illnesses since childhood where I have and continue to endure medical trauma which ultimately led to a diagnosis of PTSD a couple years ago. Due to this, I experience triggers and flashbacks daily. My brain cannot process and regulate properly. Everyday I struggle with these symptoms and the ones of my medical chronic illnesses as well. Threw this journey I have tried a lot of treatments and therapies but a year ago, I found the ”cure” I’ve longed for, a furry best friend, a dog. I never knew just how much I needed a dog in my life until I lived with my best friend who had a shih-poo in which we immediately had a connection. He needed me just as much as I needed him. He calmed my anxiety and motivated me when I was depressed. I played with him and he gave me love back. He would lay on my chest and my heart condition would calm. When the disassociation would start, just him being near me was enough to pull me out. When I would feel lonely he was always there, following me around. He knew when I was upset and he could sense when I was at my worst. With his paw in my hand, I felt I could survive when I felt like giving up. In therapy at the time, he was with me during my virtual visits and my therapist soon realized the healing he was bringing to my life. She suggested an ESA which brings me to this. I have found a shih-poo baby boy!!! These hypoallergenic breeds do come at an expense though and their adoption fees can range into the higher end of the 2500’s. I have found a breeder though who is much more reasonable. The money raised from this GoFundMe will be used for the deposit to hold the puppy for me and adoption fee. If the money is raised, I can bring this beautiful fur-baby home on January 2nd, just in time for the New Years.
