Our Dear Kim Amanda Calvin sadly passed away on the morning of Sunday 22nd November 2020 at Royal London Hospital. As I am sure you can imagine, her death was unexpected and as her friends and family, we would love to give The First Lady the special send off she very much deserves. Please feel free to kindly donate anything you possibly can, it would be much appreciated. Kim was first submitted into hospital after experiencing severe symptoms of liver failure such extreme bleeding, dark burns, swollen feet, dehydration , episodes of collapsing, weight loss, loss of appetite, disorientation, nausea and yellow eyes. Despite these symptoms, Kim had been sent home from the A&E 3 times after having a blood test and then being misdiagnosed with Anaemia. However, once the symptoms began to worsen, Kim’s blood pressure began to drop and she experienced spouts of coughing blood. By this point, Kim was submitted into Newham General Hospital. She went through the distress and discomfort of multiples scans, screenings, test tubes and cameras for 2 weeks but they still failed to pinpoint what the issue was. Kim could sense that her condition was worsening and became disoriented and fearful as the doctors did not seem to be helping her. Despite us raising concerns with the doctors, they were still unable to inform us of what exactly was wrong. After negligence on the doctor’s behalf, Kim was finally diagnosed correctly with liver failure within her last week at Newham General Hospital. By this point, her condition was very severe and she was sent straight down to the intensive care unit. As a result of the severity of her case, Kim was transferred to the Royal London Hospital in order to be treated by the liver specialists. For the the next 2 months, she was being treated for liver failure. However, Kim simultaneously developed chest infections along with multiple organ failures. This progressed to affect the brain, causing her to fall in to a coma. Once Kim came out of the coma, she was making slow progress . However, her heart then began to require machine assistance to function. The doctors have had our family on a rollercoaster for the past few week and told us to prepare for her death weeks before her actually passing. The doctors took her ventilator off on the 13th-14th November to ascertain how she would manage. On Saturday 21st November, the hospital called to inform us that Kim was deteriorating and that she would pass away within the next few hours. Sadly, Kim Amanda Calvin passed away with her husband by her side shortly after seeing her children on the morning of Sunday 22nd November 2020. Kim was a beautiful woman; a mother of 3; a wife; a daughter; an aunty; a sister of 3 ; a grand mother; a cousin; a best friend and a figure to many peers. Kim was an icon within her community, she had life, soul and heart. Kim was not ready to go, it was not her time and she fought until her very last breath. Again, Kim’s death was unexpected and as her friends and family, we would love to give The First Lady the special send off she very much deserves. Please feel free to kindly donate anything you possibly can, it would be much appreciated, thank you. ❤️
