Helping defray Teresa's costs

Dear friends of Teresa,

Not surprisingly, Teresa faces unexpected and extensive costs related to her illness and surgery. These include upgrading her insurance, bringing loved ones to care for her, consulting out-of-network doctors, and ultimately getting a hearing aid that we hope will allow her to play music comfortably.

We'd like to ask for your help in defraying these costs (as well as paying the fees for raising the money itself). Both the costs themselves and the fact that we have to resort to passing the hat highlight the failure of the US health care system and the inadequacy of social support more generally (as Teresa asked us to point out). But we are grateful that she has a community that is coming through for her in this and so many other ways. 

Deep thanks from us and from her for anything you are able to contribute! She has already paid many of these costs so sooner is better than later, if possible. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
