This is a ridiculous, unnecessary vision that would inspire creativity and hope. Everyone calls me Wook, and I am way happier than I should be. And I have always done things that I shouldn’t have been able to accomplish, and no matter how bad the hand life deals me, I always pull through and make the most of it. I got diagnosed with M.S over a decade ago, and even with all the struggles having it, brings into ones life, I’ve learned that by never giving up, treating people right, and just caring, there’s no problem that is too big. Well last year, I forgot that, and I let a problem in my life become my life. And for some unknown reason this man, still gave me a chance and let me move into his house, and showed me respect I have yet to earn. We live in Fairfax, a rougher neighborhood, which is right next to a much nicer neighborhood. And when I moved in, he was going to lose his house, his health was declining, and he had pretty much given up. See, his wife passed, and he never was able to recover from his loss. He asked for my help one day, because he just didn’t feel right. And I took the time to listen to him, and was able, after months of working with him, help him change his lifestyle and improve his health. I am often called a dreamer, but when I have a dream I chase it. I saw the potential in his house and started to put the work into it and making small improvements where I could. And the more I got involved, the more I completed, the more he himself got done. And little by little, project by project, we have transformed his ran down house, into something that is becoming impressive. He always brags about how he had the biggest back deck and so many roses that It was written about in the local newspaper. And he lights up, when ever he gets to talk about it. Well my dog is the cutest most lovable animal that has ever walked this earth. He’s also one thing that I could bond with the elderly gentleman with. And though the house sits on a double lot of land, it is in such poor condition, it is not enclosed. The one magnificent deck is falling apart. And he struggles to maintain homeowners insurance because of structure in the back that needs to be torn down. And little by little I am doing all I can to make improvements. There are limits to my resources, and I have pretty much hit them. I have a plan. And he deserves to have the dream to happen. Some of it will improve things he needs to be improved. Like having the side walk repaired, have a handrail installed, tearing down the shed. For the most part it is just frivolous. A new deck that he can enjoy and be proud of. A back yard that is enclosed and maintained so he can enjoy watching my dog, and any of the others that may visit, play. Things that a man who was a teacher, who has helped people over and over again, often at his own expense, should be able to enjoy. So I know a little, about a lot. Just enough to come up with a plan, and know how it needs to get done, and if I can’t do it, I know someone who can or know where to find someone who can do it. So if I get this project funded, by using only local small companies for the work, and beginning in March. I can make the guarantee that by September, it will be written about in the newspaper. It will be such a positive impact by inspiring those who know about it to chase their own dreams, that it’ll cause an area improvement, that’ll it’ll be known by name.
