My name is Alla. I am a local community organizer in Western Massachusetts with several respected projects. I met Tyrell when he was outside struggling in the cold in a town in Western Massachusetts. Tyrell and I have been keeping in touch via phone calls and visits. He is also being supported by the local housing justice mutual aid group.
This GoFundMe was written and created in collaboration with Tyrell. All money will be directly used to buy Tyrell a winter jacket, layers. hat, gloves, and blanket.
From Tyrell: I am a survivor of the foster care system, which I was in from 2-18 years old. I never had both parents. I have had a really rough life. I struggle with many different physical and mental health problems. I am disabled. I am homeless, I have been homeless for a while. I am very cold and need help staying warm this winter. Please help me buy what I need.
Money:
All money is being withdrawn from GoFundMe into my bank account, and then withdrawn from by bank account and I am giving the cash to Tyrell. Tyrell is then keeping some cash on hand and depositing the rest of it into his bank account. He has complete control over the money. He has used it to buy a blanket, winter jacket, other winter clothes, food, and he is using it to pay for temporary shelter in a hotel. He has deposited the rest of the money in the bank. The local mutual aid housing justice organization is helping him to budget it for longterm shelter.
