Hello everyone my name is Allen, and I have always really wanted to bring homeless people a smile or a small piece of happiness just by letting them know I see them I’ll talk with them, I’d bring them a pop or sandwich I had packed for lunch but knowing they need it more then me I give it up to them and If I had cash I’ll give them a few dollars. The thanks you get, that little heart warming feeling you get seeing them smile is better than anything you could experience if you’ve helped a person out on the street you know the feeling I’m talking about! This year I want to do something different, last year me and my girlfriend spent our thanksgiving making plates for the homeless and headed out to pass them out, what stuck with me the most was hearing some of them say it’s been a couple of days since they ate, there was one who even had a birthday on thanksgiving and when we handed him our little to go plate of a thanksgiving dinner he was just so happy, smiling and saying he’d always remember that thanksgiving.! My girlfriend is no longer in the state and lives in Colorado now so we can’t make it a yearly tradition together but I’m sure she’d love to do the same for where she is at! We just want to be able to bring happiness during a worldwide pandemic and awareness to homelessness that they aren’t forgotten about..! This year I have even more of a drive to hand out food or pick up dinner from a restaurant to be able to handout and also warm winter coats and tents! Whether I can do this for thanksgiving or Christmas either way it’ll make their days for sure!
