Joseph's Autism Therapies

We are proud parents of Joseph De Medicis who was adopted from Volograd Russia at 13 months old with brain injury concerns.  At 3 years old Joseph was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. He is now 8 years old, non-verbal with high needs. 

Joseph is in 30 plus hours of IBI, therapy, 3 hours of Speech Therapy, 2 hour of Neuro-Net Therapy, 1/2 hour of music therapy and sees a chiropractor twice per week provided by government funds, private insurance and personal funds. 

We First raised $6,000 to:

1. Send him to Dolphin Therapy
2. Buy Gemini Speech Program at home
3. Purchase the Frankling Speech Parents Training Program

The goal has been raise once again to $8,000.  The additional $2,000 will help assist Joseph with:
1. Occupational Therapy for fine motor skills estimated a $250 per week.
2. IBI Therapy as his goverment funding is coming to an end this August and and the cost of this therapy is $2,000 or more a week. 

Occupatonal Therapy will help Joseph dress himself, use all untensals, use scissors, writing instruments,  open items, almost all daily living skills you use daily, that he can not do at the moment. 

IBI Therpy is the only way Joseph learns the items a neurotypical child learns in school. It focuses on neurological learning,

Joseph gains skills when combining therapies methods. The goal is to help Joseph communicate, socially interact with others, perform daily living tasks and hopefully one day have the skills to be independent.

To give Joseph this opportunity for experience, therapy and possible outcomes for improvement would not only change his life but also those that are close and dear to him in his extended family.
