Secure Housing for Sage

Hi y’all! My name is Sage Dolan Sandrino I’m a 20-year-old queer Creative and community leader. I am currently raising funds to secure safe and stable housing in New York City. Come the end of my current lease it is imperative that I move to New York City for work and my wellbeing. I am a freelance creative as well as the founder and creative director of the TEAM Mag (@theteammag) a digital zine and youth creative studio. My work routinely brings me to New York City and the price of traveling adds up quickly. New York City is both a hub of the freelance work I rely on to exist and survive, New York City is my creative community hub. My friends and support systems are here. As an Afro-Latina trans artist community is so important for my well-being, currently I am living in upstate New York isolated form many of my work opportunities and artistic community. Aside from my personal community being based in New York so are many of my business connections and professional opportunities. Whether I am speaking on a panel about every day activism, filming an interview for a documentary, or consulting for a branded project, New York is where I find myself on often. The unfortunate reality is that my not being based in New York City most definitely has an effect on the work opportunities I am presented with. By moving permanently to New York City I open myself up to a host of new opportunities and the financial gain I need to survive. I am raising $15,000 so I can move to the city with the financial security I need in this time. I will use this $15,000 to pay a year of rent upfront so I can focus on making money and not worrying about losing my housing. Come the end of my current lease I will have nowhere to live and I will still be living without a safety net.
