Hi all hope you enjoyed my video intro! Yup I’m awkward but that’s me!!!!!I would advise all possible donors to view my video but if yaw don’t here’s a little about me..I’m Shiloh Clamons from Saint Paul Minnesota, USA. I’m excited to start my next venture to help refugees. I have my BA in human services, I nannied for low income families for 22 years and I have graduate courses in early childhood special education and have worked with refugees in many countries including, France, Brussels, Greece and Italy. And am an artist with art therapy experience.
I’m raising funds for myself to be able to travel to multiple countries to support refugees with art therapy. Within the countries that I go to assist refugees, I will be working with them to heal from their trauma. Funds will be applied to supply art therapy tools and materials. They will also help support me with a very modest living situation while I work with refugees. Once funds are raised they will be directly used for travel, housing and materials.
You might think, yes the Syrians are in need, the South Americans, Central Americans and Mexicans are going through a horrible ordeal. But there are currently 52 countries that refugees are fleeing from war, political and religious extremists, famine, civil war and more. I personally met refugees from 33 countries; Ethiopia-Somali & Oromo, Sudan, Iraq, Pakistan , Eritrean , Iran , Kurdish, Libya, Syria, Palestinian, Morocco , Bulgaria , Burundi , Kuwait, Congo, Cameroon, Algeria, Sierra Leone, Central Africa , Palestine, Nigeria , Egypt, Gambia, Tunisia, Ghana, Senegal, Chad, Mauritania , Marshall Islands , Tanzania , Gambia, Yemen. A bit of my most recent experience working with refugees. I spent November 2017-April 2018 in Europe giving refugees in need what I had to offer. My experience changed my life. I saw, heard, and experienced the pain these people are living through and it has touched my soul. I met refugees from a few days old to elders. Each one had a story so long one could never keep up. I’m now driven to give what I have to offer to help their journey a little more bearable. I have a new passion to give my time, my education, my art and art therapy skills to all of those I can reach around the world. I currently have applications to work with refugees in Arizona, Palestine and Lebanon. But I need your help! HELP ME HELP REFUGEES! I’ll be walking 117 mile to our cabin and the only things I can use (with exception to my phone for video updates and emergencies) is what a stranger gives me. so I can only ask strangers for supplies: as a refugee you can usually only get your needs met by depending on strangers and not only do they have to walk far distances while fleeing they have nothing to do when they arrive so many walk walk walk to pass time!
