Hi there! I hope everyone is having an amazing day! My name is Taylor and I am starting this fundraiser hoping to get some help. I recently moved into a house that was built in the 50’s and not long after I did, I ended up having an incident which caused me to end up having hand surgery. So it all start on a Wednesday. July 1st, 2020 is a day I will NEVER forget. Pulling into my drive way around 11 o’clock in the morning (I had just came from a doctors appointment) I would’ve never thought the next time I can out of my house would be in a stretcher. Whenever I entered my house I was going to push through our swinging door leading to the kitchen (as I always do) and pushed a little too hard on the glass in the door and it shattered into my hand causing me to fall back on my stomach in shock and by the grace of God my boyfriend was with me and was to keep pressure and call 911. Doctors said he SAVED my hand!! Laying there, not being able to feel anything but the warmth of the blood rushing out of my hand was terrifying. I didn’t know if my fingers were still attached. We waited for the paramedics for what seemed like an hour and finally they arrived. I was taken to the nearest hospital and I just remember the nurse who held pressure on my hand for 3 hours!! Forever thankful for the whole hospital staff that day. Y’all made me feel safe, comfortable and taken care of. I cut through 4 nerves and 2 tendons and nicked the main artery in my palm which sent me on a long recovery. I had to learn how to use my hand again by going to therapy twice a week and still am learning how to use it but I was just released from therapy last month. The money I receive donations will go towards the bills that I got behind on while being basically on bed rest because I was right handed and of course it happened to my right hand. It will also be used for my medical bills that I couldn’t pay due to losing my job on top of all that my boyfriend had a very bad accident in which he tore his rotator cuff in his shoulder and crushed nerves in his kneecap as well as a fractured knee cap and his leg is numb from his thigh to his ankle so he lost his job in September due to that injury and afterwords we found out his job does not have worker’s compensation so he hasn’t been getting paid and that is why we’ve gotten behind on everything we’ve asked for help from some people but we have ran out of options every little bit helps in our situation because we have ran out of everything including life savings. Thank you for reading my story and God bless to all.
