Help Candise Fraser fight Stage 3 Cervical Cancer

As many of you may know January 2020 Candise and Clintin welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Myla Mae Fraser! Something many people may not know is that Candise unknowingly battled with cervical cancer from the beginning of her pregnancy. Postpartum Candise’s battle with cervical cancer got much worse, she had many challenging health issues throughout her entire pregnancy, and this lead Candise to believe that the symptoms she had been experiencing postpartum were easy to write off as “normal symptoms many new moms experience”. Candise truly wants to get her story heard, as many symptoms she experienced ranged from mild-“normal” pregnancy symptoms to severe symptoms that were easy to chalk up as “pregnancy symptoms and postpartum symptoms”, some more severe symptoms Candise experienced was bleeding, pelvic pain, and constant exhaustion. Anyone that has experienced a pregnancy and postpartum could easily overlook these symptoms. Unfortunately, on Thursday November 5th, 2020 Candise and Clintin received the results that she would be battling stage 3 cervical cancer, with a 10 month old baby as a first time mom. Candise and Clintin have had to face a lot of difficult realities that came with this diagnosis due how easy it was to overlook these symptoms, some difficult realities they are having to face right now include the possibility of not being able to have another child, losing the ability to breast feed her 10 month old baby due to treatment, and the constant exhaustion that will just get worse throughout treatment while being a new mom, on top of many more obstacles they will be facing. Candise more then anything wants to spread awareness, and remind us women to listen to our bodies! Please book and don’t skip those Pap tests, because they can truly be life saving. Cervical cancer is the fourth most common type of cancer in women, testing has come so far and cases have dropped steadily in Canada. Candise is in amazing hands at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre at the foothills hospital, and the funds from this campaign will go to expenses required for travel to treatment as Candise will require 5 weeks of chemotherapy once a week, 5 weeks of external radiation 5 times a week at the foothills hospital and 3 weeks internal radiation also at the foothills hospital. Candise is self employed, and does not qualify for medical leave so they truly are grateful for any support they receive. We did want to make note that with Candise’s upcoming treatment and current diagnosis it is best that she does not have many visitors, especially unannounced as with the current pandemic she can not chance getting sick on top of everything else, and they wish that things were different as she would otherwise love the visits and support. ♥️♥️♥️
