Bruno’s Buddy Bench

Donation protected
Hello there! The Erskine Community Garden had a bench which was dedicated to Bruno, a very much loved, local dog, part Rottweiler, part German Shepherd. He was known locally as the sheriff because he would teach young pups manners, and how to behave but was also the gentlest, cuddliest, giant hearted dog. Bruno was a therapet who brought happiness and comfort to all he met. When Bruno died he was much missed so the ECG decided to dedicate a new bench to Bruno, called Bruno’s Buddy Bench, which sat on a higher viewpoint, surveying the garden. The area behind the bench is becoming a dog playground so it’s a fitting spot for the bench. Sadly the bench has disappeared, with no sign of it returning. Rather than leaving this as a negative, we believe in taking opportunities to create a positive. Having spoken to Joan, Bruno’s owner, we would like to provide a new Bruno’s Buddy Bench, bespoke, with a statue of a Rottweiler on one end, and a German shepherd on the other, by a craftsperson we have used before, and trust to do an amazing practical, art piece in honour of Bruno. It’s going to cost a fair bit but we believe it’s worth it as it memorialises the relationship a person can have with a dog, a priceless, non-judging, caring and loyal companion. And how we all need a friend who may be furry and four legged The bench will be fixed into the ground - the missing bench has been getting repainted so it wasn’t fastened as it would usually be. We would be extremely grateful if you would make a donation towards this. Thank you
