Dominican Republic Missions Trip Funding

This summer, I have an amazing opportunity to serve God in the Dominican Republic on a missions trip with "Handfuls of Hope". While I am there, we will be spending a good portion of our time working with children. We will be visiting the children in the Robert Reid Children's Hospital in Santo Domingo, distributing toys and other needed items such as pampers, sheets, and medical supplies. Then I will be working in the village of Catalina where we have a VBS program for about 2000 kids
Handfuls of Hope supports a medical clinic in Catalina, run in conjunction with the local church. I am very excited to see how God uses this ministry for His glory. This year the organization intends, with God's help, to open a day care/ orphanage and I get to be part of it. It is important that you know any money you donate will be going towards my personal funds for the trip and not as a donation to Handfuls of Hope itself. If you are trying to decide between donating to me, or to Handfuls of Hope, please donate to Handfuls of Hope. I am definitely not a priority for the needs of Catalina and surrounding areas, but I would love to go and help.
From the summers of 2009-2011 I have been able to experience God first hand in this amazing place, seeing first hand God work through me, the incredible people I go on this trip with, and amazing people I meet down there. I will never be able to express the experiences i've had with this Handfuls of Hope family, and how much I miss them. I've been able to help build a home, talk to children about the love of God, share my own experiences, and have even had God use my knowledge of the french language for his glory. Catalina and the people there have shaped me as a person and my faith in God.
At the same time, I don't feel it right to ask for sponsors for my own personal trip without offering anything in return, so I offer you: CUPCAKES.
