Dear beloved family and friends,
As some of you know, I have a passion for loving God and loving every single one of His precious children. I have felt very strongly for a long time that I will be doing mission work for the rest of my life "“ wherever God wants me. This past summer some of you were a part of supporting me financially and in prayer as I went to Romania "“ for which I am truly grateful. The Lord wrecked me while I was there and poured out more of His love than I ever thought possible (on the children AND me). Leaving a place where I was called to be and where my heart was was one of the most challenging things I have ever experienced. I remember thinking, "This is what I want to spend the rest of my life doing; loving the broken, the "˜forgotten' ones, and teaching them about the passionate love the Lord has for each of them." I'm called to share the message of Jesus; and that is of love.
I've been given the opportunity to attend a life-changing missions school at Iris Ministries in Pemba, Mozambique, from June 1-August 6, 2013. At the Harvest School of Missions, I will be equipped with the skills, knowledge, and encounters that will train me up to minister, and love the 'least of these', the poorest of the poor, and those that are in need of love from the Father. After a lot of prayer, and many dreams it has been confirmed that this is my time to go. The Harvest School of Missions is led by Heidi and Rolland Baker; Heidi is one of the most influential people in my walk with the Lord. This school exists to train up, equip and send out radical, laid-down lovers of Jesus who carry the Kingdom of God to the ends of the earth, and students who are learning how to bring the good news to the poor, look after the widows, heal the sick, bring freedom to the captives, who stop for the one and believe for the multitudes.
During the two months I am there, I will be involved in outreaches to unreached people groups in the bush, preaching the gospel, praying for the sick, and I will gain understanding on how to minister cross-culturally, with hands-on experience.
An opportunity like this happens once in a lifetime, requiring financial and prayer support from many people. I need to raise AT LEAST $5,000 to go. Any size of a donation will help tremendously. This cost includes tuition ($2,800), my flight, room and board, local transportation, a diet of basic African food, vaccinations, visa, supplies, and books for the school. "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest."
****** The School requires that I pay the tuition in full by April 25th (wow, thats soon)... so I would ask that if you would like to donate, please get the money to me ASAP (by April 15th)
**Also, unfortunately since this is a school, the money you donate will not be tax-deductable, which I understand might make it difficult to do (which is TOTALLY fine). If this is the case, I would still ask that you partner with me in prayer!
