Winter Beanies for Cancer Patients

Donation protected
Just like that, our amazing Seattle summer quickly took a sharp turn toward the Fall/Winter seasons. With the extreme drop in temperatures, cancer patients are especially affected by the cold temperatures. When I lost my hair last November, one of the hardest adjustments in day-to-day life was how difficult it was to control my body temperature, especially during the Winter. People suffering from cancer and undergoing treatment are much more susceptible to always feeling cold, even in “normal” temperatures. Many researchers suggest that cancer cells possibly induce cold-stress in order to secure and promote their own survival. Having said that, BEANIES BECAME MY SAVING GRACE AND LIFELINE. They not only allowed me to feel comfortable in my own skin without my hair, but they helped me find comfort in staying warm. 100% of the proceeds will be going toward buying beanies from a locally-owned business (support your local businesses!) and hand delivering them to the UW Medical Center and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. This is where I underwent my treatments, and it will mean the world to me to be able to provide beanies for several patients fighting their respective battles. My goal is to deliver 100 beanies! Beanie donations also welcome!
