FoxFire vs J.B. Pritzker indoor ban

FoxFire, established in historic downtown Geneva, Illinois in 2003 has been a key asset to the community both as a restaurant and a partner, making countless donations and fundraising for both local and national organizations. Father and son team, Curt and K.C. Gulbro welcome all and treat their guests and staff as an extension of their family. But this year has not been kind to the restaurant industry. Closures due to COVID in these uncertain times have left many businesses like theirs in a precarious position. Now Governor Pritzker has taken the law into his own hands with an unconstitutional executive order. This order prohibits indoor dining at FoxFire and all other restaurants in Kane and Dupage counties.  FoxFire would stand to lose 80% of its business, causing economic disaster for them. They have adhered to CDC guidelines regarding mask wearing, social distancing and limiting guest capacity since they have been mandated and have a spotless record with the Kane County Health Department. The Governor’s order is based on faulty data - indoor dining has not been proven to be a significant source of the spread of the virus.  FoxFire is fighting back. We have drawn the line in the sand and said "Enough!" We are asking the courts to tell the Governor that he has overstepped his constitutional authority, and that FoxFire and all Kane and DuPage restaurants should remain open.   We have faith in our lawyers and know justice will prevail but this case will cost more than we have!
