Please help us! Our 13 week old pug, Yolanda, decided to be brave and go down the stairs on her own and took a nasty tumble and broke her elbow on the fall. I've never heard her scream so loud and we knew immediately that something was wrong. She cannot walk on her front left leg and screams in pain if she puts pressure on it or moves it the wrong way. We shelled out the last $450 that we had in our pockets to pay for the emergency room visit tonight which pretty much only got us the visit, pain meds, and a set of X-rays. We don't know what else to do but come here and ask for your help.
The diagnosis: Yolanda needs surgery which will guarantee a safe recovery.
The dilemma: The vet said we should have surgery performed on Yolanda within 2-5 days and the longer we wait the higher chance she will not recover. It will cost $4000.
The consequences: If Yolanda does not get surgery for a healthy recovery, the vet said she will have to eventually get her leg amputated because she will suffer from chronic pain for the rest of her life and never regain full motion in her leg. Please don't let this happen! You can make the difference!
Our only hope: We hope that you find it in your heart to help. Yolanda is the apple of our eye and brings us SO much joy into our lives every day! Our other dog Lily is heartbroken seeing her in pain, and so are we. All we want is to see Yolanda walk again and enjoy the rest of her puppy life with full mobility.
