Ayine Needs Surgery, Let's Help Him!

Hey Everybody! My next trip to Ghana brings with it a small mission that I need your help with. Seven-year-old Ayine Akutah has an umbilical hernia that unfortunately continued to grow as he does, now requiring surgery. His uncle, and also my very dear friend, Dontty, was able to get Ayine his first surgery when he was just under a year old but now at seven, he requires an additional one. We are raising money to pay for Ayine's surgery, recovery, transportation and other associated costs. So we need your help.

Ayine lives in Zuarungu Village in northern Ghana, just outside the main city of Bolgatanga. Access to the care he needs is in the capital, Accra, located in the southern area of Ghana. Until Dontty, Kelsey and I get Ayine to Lister Hospital in Accra we will not know the exact costs associated with this surgery but have researched and estimated it to be around three thousand dollars.

This little boy needs our help. The hernia has transformed Ayine into a shy and self-conscious child and it's time to change this. A long journey is in store for him-- it will be the first time he will leave his village and family. Dontty tells me his a brave little boy though and will do just fine because "his spirit is very good and he is protected by God." Dontty, Kelsey, and I will be with him in this journey from beginning to end and provide him with all that he needs, we just need a little bit of your help to do so.
