FIP, Feline Infectious Peritonitis, is a devastating disease that is fatal without treatment. Until recently there was no cure for FIP, but now there is hope for all cats with this death sentence. It’s called GS 441542 and it has about an 80% cure rate. Unfortunately it’s still experimental which means a vet can’t use it, leaving pet owners to find the medication and do the treatment themselves. Treatment consists of an injection everyday for 84 days, then an 84 day observation period where they’re monitored for a relapse. After 84 days the cat is cured and a FIP survivor! Treatment medication is very expensive and many people rely on donations to save their cat’s lives. Toby Tiger is a FIP survivor and he wants to help other cats get a cure for FIP too, so he has a group, Toby Tiger’s FIP Fight Club, where cats can post their fundraisers to raise money for treatment medication.
