Kookie’s Much Needed Heart Surgery

Donation protected
Hi everyone, I’m fundraising for my puppy Kookie. Our family adopted Kookie after the passing of my grandpa and other puppy Rickey in the same week. Sadly Kookie has a heart condition (Pulmonic Stenosis) which makes his heart work much harder then normal. This is one of the most common congenital heart defects in dogs. PS is caused by abnormal development of one of the valves of the heart, the pulmonary valve. This week we took him to a Cardiologist in Ames and found out it was a very SEVERE Valvular Pulmonic Stenosis. Here’s the information the doctors gave us: Dogs with mild PS generally live normal lives and do not require treatment for their condition. In contrast, dogs with severe PS can develop complications later in life, including fatigue, fainting, fluid build-up in the abdomen (congestive heart failure). For severely affected dogs, the doctors recommend a medication (atenolol) to decrease workload on the right ventricle, and an interventional procedure (balloon valvuloplasty, or BVP) to help “open up” the narrowed pulmonic valve. Unfortunately the surgery will cost us about $5,000. We would absolutely appreciate it if anyone can pitch in, even a dollar helps. The surgery is scheduled for December 4th. Again we plead for any help of any kind. $5,000 dollars is a lot of money, but to make sure Kookie lives a full life we need to make sure he gets this surgery. Please share on your social media My grandpa and my other dog Rickey sent us Kookie so we could help save his life. I know that we can raise this money together and keep our promise to save Kookie. Thank you in advance.
