Help Stephanie Get to Cambodia!

The reason I reach out to my friends and family is a simple one: I need your help. While I am not very vocal about it, and really only talk about it when asked, I am a Christian. Stating this, and bear with me here, I feel that I am being called to take this opportunity and go with my church on a short term mission trip to Cambodia this Summer (June 10th - 28th). Cambodia is in humanitarian need!



A little bit about me is below, but please read this first!
The Important stuff:
The reason for me making this site is to raise $ for a missions trip to Cambodia with my church, First Covenant in Oakland. Among a lot of things, the group will be doing the following:


1. Provide humanitarian aid, which includes distribution of rice, clothes, eyeglasses, school supplies, medicines, assistance with a water system and building a shelter for the homeless and needy, and fixing roads for poor villages.


2. Reach out to prisoners in Battambang province.


3. We will be going to minister to small new churches in Kampong Speu and Pailin provinces

I need to raise $3,000 in order to go. While Google Maps tells me to kayak across the Pacific Ocean, I think it's best I fly, thus air fair being the bulk of the price :( Any contribution is greatly appreciated, and every penny will go towards the cost of the trip, any raised after the goal I will be donating to organizations providing the humanitarian supplies (the organization is yet to be confirmed).


If you cannot afford to donate at this time, that is OKAY. Good thoughts, prayers, high fives are all appreciated and totally welcome.


I plan on starting a blog to post any updates on the internets that may happen and a little bit about the trip as details become available.
