CHURCH - DIY Music and Art

We are a little church building in the south bottoms at 450 E street, just to the west of the train tracks.
CHURCH is a space in Lincoln, Nebraska celebrating local (and touring) DIY musicians and artists, and fostering a creative environment in the form of a donation-based concert venue and art gallery.
We believe Lincoln needs and deserves a performance space that isn't somebody's house and isn't a bar trying to use music to sell alcohol. We want this space to be a place where people of all ages, races, and gender identities can feel welcome and encouraged to participate.
We have already hosted many amazing events showcasing local and touring bands, local art, Sound Saunas (featuring gonging and crystal bowls), and a monthly hip hop showcase curated by Lincoln's own Sleep Sinatra.
We can't afford to do this alone. June rent is rapidly approaching and we are several hundred dollars short. We have a few more months of rent left on our lease and reaching this $1500 goal will allow us to PAY bands more money and focus our attention on improving the community. We are thrilled to be able to provide this service to the community but we need your support! Shows and events will have a suggested donation amount but NO ONE WILL EVER BE TURNED AWAY FOR LACK OF FUNDS.
In order to make sure we can keep our doors open and our lights on, we need some financial support from our community. We need the members of this community to band together with a resounding "YES! We want this in Lincoln!" by casting their vote in favor of DIY culture and donating $$$.
