Mom’s fight with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma

Dear all, Last Friday my mom was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. Since March we were in a diagnostic research to find the root of all her medical problems. She couldn’t walk, she was in excruciating pain due to Polyneyropathy and recently suffered a stroke as well. After all, those were symptoms of the NHL. We are of course very sad with the news and really hoped for another resolution to this story. But, those are the waters we are thrown in and we have to swim.... Due to Covid-19 i wasn’t allowed inside the hospital to see her! And therefore the only care i could provide is financial and psychological over the phone and videocall. She hardly recognizes me due to the stroke she had but i hope talking to me makes her a little happy. Financially, i am responsible for all of hers and my fathers costs (medical and everyday) and in addition to all that, now she needs to have private nurses 24/7 (around 250 euros per day) because she cannot accomodate herself for any of her basic needs or call someone if she feels bad. Today she took a turn for the worst. The lymphoma is now also in her brain. I insisted and the hospital decided to give me an exception and allow me to see her fully covered, probably in a full suit. My mom, Potoula, is an amazing woman! In the 65 years of her life so far she has always been a fighter and i know she doesn’t give up easily! She has the purest and cleanest soul and accepts and respects everyone!! I used to be very proud and wanted to solve everything by myself or only with the help of close family. But when things like this happen....i decided that I am done being shy and ashamed.
