Hello family and friends,
My name is Valida Douglas and I currently teach Pre-K. It is students first time entering a school and they are ready and eager to learn. Virtual learning is hard for Pre-K. During this difficult time, as a teacher I need to be very flexible and still be effective as I teach virtually this year.
Pre-k students need lots of engagement and hands-on opportunities to explore items for learning. I would like to create virtual learning bags so they can complete developmentally appropriate hands on work like they would in class. These bags will be a powerful aide during virtual learning instruction to bring the classroom into their home. I would like to purchase my students play dough, dice, shapes, pom-poms, beads, etc. The students will be able to use these manipulatives for math during live virtual lessons. I would also like to purchase composition books for each child. This will give them the opportunity to practice writing their names and do other writing activities from home during our virtual meetings. I’m also in need of a laminator, laminating paper, card stock and ink. I will use these items to create task cards and learning games for my students. Lastly, I would also like to purchase a document camera to help clarify direct instruction. This camera will help my students see better rather than holding a piece of paper up to the screen. Virtual learning can be fun and effective and with these materials, I will be able to provide highly engaging lessons online. If you are able to help, any amount will do.
