Justin's Cancer Recovery Fund

I am setting up this campaign for my close friend, Justin Kloski. For those of you who don’t know, Justin is 27 years old and was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is cancer of the lymphatic system that in Justin’s case has taken over the lymph nodes in his chest and caused an incredibly large mass to form over his left lung. This is all very new to Justin and his family and although the appropriate treatment regimen is still being decided upon, doctors have ensured that it will be a long, tough year of chemotherapy.
While the prognosis for full recovery is positive, this cancer has completely flipped not only Justin’s life, but also his family’s lives upside down. At only 27 years old, Justin has been forced to put the things he’s passionate about on hold. He was planning on attending Optometry School this fall, but will have to postpone those dreams in order to fight off the cancer. His mother, who lives in Las Vegas was forced to leave her home, her job, and her other son, in order to come to Indiana and care for Justin. While there is no place she would rather be than by his side, the situation has put a giant burden on the family. Her intentions were to take Justin back to Las Vegas for treatment, but because the process has already been started here, doing so could delay his treatment up to 6 months – time that he simply does not have.
By the grace of God, Justin recently became insured. However, the medical care he is undergoing is still very expensive and his family is struggling to find ways to cover these bills. Justin also needs additional tests and procedures done that insurance refuses to cover. Unfortunately, life does not stop. His mother continues to have monthly bills and basic living expenses that have to be met. Although we have opened our doors to allow them a place to stay, our lease ends in July. At that time, they will have no place to call their own.
If you know Justin or his family at all, you know that they are strong, wonderful, hardworking people that would give the shirt off their backs for someone in need. As you can imagine, it is a humbling experience to ask for help. However, no one should have to sacrifice his or her health, or worry about getting by financially in a time like this. I know that there are many of you that feel the same way. So if you can, please show Justin and his family the support they need and deserve. Any funds that they receive will help remove the financial burden and allow them to focus on what is truly important. I know that they will be forever grateful for any generosity sent their way! Thank you for taking the time to read Justin’s story.
