Mental health & arson charges

Thank you for taking the time to visit our GoFundMe me. I’m going to be as brief as possible on our situation; but, am more than willing to give additional information to those who request it. I am making this page in hopes to get the help we need for my mother-in-law. Since July 31st, we noticed a change in her mentality and both my husband and myself have exhausted all of our efforts to get her the proper help and care that she needs. As some may be aware, in Texas, to help anyone with a mental disorder they must cause or intend to cause harm to themselves or others. Though her living conditions were not great and her health was declining there was nothing that could be done until now. As of last week she burnt her house down and now we have that “leg” to stand on to begin the process of getting her help; however, with a new baby we are on a tight budget and really need assistance. I spoke with the attorney this morning and there is an upfront fee of $5000. He mentioned that other fees would be acquired through the process but until we go in with all of our paperwork and documentation, he could not determine what those might include. As the situation sits now, we need someone who can help us immediately and get my mother-in-law the best care possible and this attorney is willing to start on the case this week. Any help at all in us reaching our upfront goal cost is beyond appreciated. I know that God has his hands in our situation and with your help we can get my mother-in-law the help she needs.
