Please help me get to Philly!

My name is Jessica Justice, and I am asking for support and assistance with raising the funds needed to help me get to Philadelphia, for the Democratic National Convention this July. This past weekend, along with some awe inspiring movers and shakers in the 7th Congressional District, I was given the great honor and responsibility of being elected as a national delegate for Bernie Sanders in the state of Washington.
This is not only a wonderful opportunity to participate in the Democratic process, but a great privilege. This is a pivotal time in our nation's history, and this election could very well be one for the books, especially if there is a contested convention, which it looks like there will be.
One thing current election trends and polling results have shown is that the American electorate wants real CHANGE in this election, not incremental, or the status quo. On the positive end of the spectrum, we have Bernie Sanders advocating for New Deal Era-esque progressive ideals. On the other side of the isle, we have an authoritarian alternative in Donald Trump, whose rise in the campaign everyone balked at until he ran away with the nomination. Both candidates represent unhappiness and frustration with the current state of politics. One is working to move us forward, one is like a monkey with a gun. Funny to look at, but extremely unpredictable and likely dangerous.
I may have only been witness to the past 2 decades of political climate, but I am a student of, (and teacher) of Civics and History. Never before have I felt more in line with and connected to a candidate with progressive ideals. He is an authentic and fervent champion of the most important issues facing our nation, consistently (not just when politically expedient) and for longer than I have even been alive. He represents what our democracy was intended to be, but has not yet realized; a candidate of, and for the PEOPLE.
Whether your issue is Civil Rights/ Racial Justice, Criminal Justice, Climate Change & the Environment, Economic Inequality, Foreign Policy & Diplomatic Relations, Single-Payer Healthcare, or Political and Campaign Finance Reform . . . . this is our chance to make a difference.
Once we get to Philadelphia myself and the 66 other National Delegates elected on behalf of the state of Washington, and all other statewide representatives will get together to shape our parties platform. Then the real fight will begin over deciding who the party nominee will be. We are quite literally the votes who decide which name will show up on that column of the ballot. And seeing as how there are still several states left in primary process, including California and all of its 475 delegates, this race is not at all over, and there is a strong case to be made.
Please help me champion this fight for representative democracy, a progressive platform, and hopefully Bernie Sanders’ nomination as candidate for President. I am incredibly passionate about moving forward and fighting for a real democratic process and hopefully a political paradigm shift that we can be proud of. I consider myself a minor policy-wonk, and take pride on knowing the numbers, data, trends and historical precedence. Very few people who talk to me while on the fence about this political revolution, end up staying there.
It is our goal to make the case to any and everyone, and build strong coalitions on the convention floor in July, so please help me get there!
This trip is not funded by the DNC, and I will have to incur the costs. The estimates are currently sitting at $5,000 after everything is said and done. This will include cross-country airfare, transportation, hotel for several nights, and food during the trip. Any little bit helps me cover the expense of this trip. Please share with anyone and everyone you know. I want people to feel like they have a good advocate and representative going to Philadelphia on their behalf!
