Hope and Healing for Cortney Huffman

Donation protected
Cortney Constance Diane Huffman, 24 years old, woke up as usual Thursday, October 8th, 2020. She went about her day as she always does with no idea just how much the next few hours would change her entire future and just how close she would come to losing her life. Thursday night she was out spending time with some friends and riding around having a great time. About 3:30AM, Friday, October 9, 2020 she was involved in a horrific automobile accident. She was a passenger in the back seat of the car and upon impact was ejected from the vehicle and slammed into a tree. Her left arm was mangled and her hand broken. When help arrived she had no blood flow to her arm and there was a huge fear of her arm being amputated. She went into emergency surgery upon arrival at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS to restore blood flow. They are still not 100% sure the arm will survive but the physicians are more hopeful. Immediately following that surgery she had to go back into a second surgery to have a rod and pins inserted in her arm and hand. We are being told even if the arm is saved she may never gain use of it. In addition to these injuries she also has a fractured pelvis, fractured tail bone, broken ribs, a ruptured and bleeding spleen, and bruised lungs. These are all injuries on the top half of her body. There haven’t been any X-Rays on the bottom half yet due to all the swelling. We hope to get more detail on any additional injuries early this coming week. Cortney is receiving blood today due to internal bleeding. Cortney supported herself as a housekeeper. She will not be able to return to work for a really long time, if ever. She is facing a very long hospitalization and then follow up rehabilitation and therapy. We have no idea the cost of all these medical bills and then the rehabilitation and therapy that will he required however Cortney has no insurance and no income since being injured. Those bills will soon begin to pile up with no way for her to pay them or to support herself. We understand this has been a very hard year for everyone but if you could please pray about it and find it in your heart to help Cortney with whatever you can to go toward her short as well as long term recovery we would be so very grateful.
