A Cure for Jami

On September 30, 2019, My Momma was diagnosed with Invasive Mammary Carcinoma / HER 2 Positive with a mass of 4.2 cm, in the left breast. Within a few weeks she started Chemo every 3 weeks. After the 6th treatment, it was time for surgery. On March 11, 2020, the surgeon removed both breast and 5 Lymph Nodes on the left side. She was given a few weeks to recover, and then maintenance Chemo began. Along with the 25 radiation treatments. Her projected finish date of Chemo is end of November 2020. Mid April 2020, she started a new daily medication, for the next 10 years, Anastrozole. It is used to decrease the production of estrogen, to slow any future cancer growth. With this comes fatigue, muscle and joint pain, to name a few. The Anastrozole also decreases your bone density, so a Bone scan was done and it confirmed density is occurring. The next step is to keep the port in and start the Zometa Infusions every 6 months for the next 5 years. This is where we are currently at. She had her first treatment August 27th. These medication are running around $97,000 a month. With good insurance, there is still an accumulated balance as of today of $22,000, that is with the Medical provider adjustment and the hospital will not budge on the balance. Mom makes her monthly payments. There is so many bills from various Specialist, Surgeon, Oncologists, Hospitals , Radiology the list goes on and on. She can’t keep up with all of them. Our goal is $10,000 to cover what’s in attorney collections. In the beginning she had monthly fundraising from family and friends. Since the Covid, these are no longer possible. Too add more stress, Mom received her termination letter. September 21st, she has maxed the medical leave. She has applied for medical relief assistance through several programs and received the same answer. Out of funds. Mom had to give a list of her assets, deals with collections, and attorneys. A stress she does not need. When your dealing with cancer, your health should be your main focus. So I have started a Go Fund Me account to help my Momma out. Any donation would be greatly appreciated. Let’s relieve the stress. Thank you and God bless.
