Help Logan Recieve Private Testing & Vet Care

Donation protected
Id like to introduce you to Logan, our 10 year old Westie.

Over the past year he’s been facing an uphill battle with a skin condition that we’ve never been able to get diagnosed or 100% under control. When he was younger we were told that it was so many different things but it never truly went away.

Unfortunately last year he had an accident which resulted in him having to have his right hip removed. After months of care and rehabilitation you would never be able to tell!! but with that his skin got progressively worse. His lymphnods are always a concern because of how inflamed they are, hes been tested for cancer which thankfully came back negative and its believed they’re related to his condition.

We’ve been back and forth to the vets more times than I can count now and nothing has helped. He was being prescribed pills that were not meant for him long term but still prescribed a year later after a constant battle between the vet. Eventually i took him off them and was then told im not putting my dogs best interests first. Even though, they caused him to swell, blister, excessively drink till he was sick and lose control of bladder.

We recently had a consultation were the vet thoroughly went through his history and agreed that these pills were not helping him and only making matters worse. We took him to his physical appointment and hoped they would finally begin to do some skin swabs that they had previously promised. Due to covid this appointment was impossible to get as he wasnt seen as an emergency, he ended up with an infected armpit.

He was with the vet for some time and we were then told he had a yeast infection and it would basically be pointless doing swaps. The vet and vet nurse who saw him both agreed he should be taken off the pills but told us there wasnt anything they could do for him anymore. This is because they’re a charity and cannot get ahold of any other pills for him. In addition to that, they had reason to believe that he is suffering from 'Cushing Disease' however, theyre not able to run any tests for it due to covid! (which doesnt look like it’s going away anytime soon)

This left us with our last option of taking him to a private vet to get him the help he desperately deserves. We’ve dont a lot of research into the disease and discovered that if its left untreated tumors could develop on his kidneys but on the other hand he could lead a normal life with the right treatment.

The money raised from this pledge will allow us to get him booked in with a private vet who will be able to do the vital testing he needs. The money will also help cover transportation costs, ongoing vet consultations and medication. Getting a diagnosis is really important for him as it can affect his future health dramatically aswell has his present health. Being able to confirm what his lymphnode problem is related to his skin will help to lower is risk of cancer concern

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, if youre able to leave a donation it is extremely appreciated. Please can you share the link with your friends and family to try help get this seen by as many people as we can♥️
