Walter and Rita need our help!

My name is Ray Germain and those of you who know me know that I'm not one to ask for help so this is hard for me. I'm starting this go fund me because I made a promise to a man. A promise that no matter what happens to him and his battle with cancer that he never needs to worry or stress over weather or not Rita (his wife / my mother in law) will be ok emotionally or financially. This is the last thing anyone who's going through what he is should have to concern themselves with. Walter was diagnosed with esophageal cancer last September. He started having trouble swallowing his food and eventually as it progressed he could not even swallow liquids. If anyone has had to deal with cancer you already know the hell he has gone through with chemo and radiation. Not only did the treatments take a toll on him but seeing what happens to someone who can't eat or drink was hard to watch. He has lost close to 85 lbs from basically starving and had to have a feeding tube put into his stomach. Walter did have some positive results with the removal of his esophagus and he began to bounce back. Eventually he was able to eat again and was walking laps around the hospital hallways giving us a run for our money. Within a couple months he was again having trouble swallowing foods and liquids and began to lose weight once again. After several trips to the hospital for dehydration his feeding tube was put back in to give him the nutrients his body desperately needed. The trouble swallowing sadly ended up being more cancer. More bad news this past week is that the cancer which was thought to be gone had now spread throughout his body. He is now diagnosed with stage 4 cancer which was explained to him as being incurable. Walter knows he will eventually lose his battle with this terrible disease but the man will not go without a fight. He's still got his sense of humor stating " I guess I should start a bucket list, fist thing on the list (1.)Get a bucket."
I see the pain in the eyes of those who know him best. The kind of pain that says I know this is it even though the words are never spoken. I'm going to do whatever I can to help along side the many family and friends who already do so much but with all the bills and costs associated with this disease it's just not cutting it, especially since Walter has not been able to work throughout this battle leaving a chunk of the financial burden on Rita. For those who know Walter, you know what you're donating to. For those of you who donate and don't know him or his wife Rita I can only wish that you did. I wish that you could see the love they have for each other and everyone else around them. I wish you could hear one of his jokes. I wish that you could see this man through the eyes of those that know him best. Any money donated will be put to good use with bills and maybe to even check off a few items on his bucket list, though I know his number one concern is making sure that his Rita is taken care of.
