Kyle’s Surgery Recovery Fund

Hello! I am fundraising on the behalf of my friend*, Kyle Lawton. For the last five years Kyle has been on the journey of transitioning. As a transgender man, Kyle has shared his excitement that on October 29 he will be getting top surgery. This surgery is something that is critical to Kyle, and I asked if I could help support him financially while he recovers. He has been very grateful to me and everyone in the community who has reached out to help. The problem is that Kyle cannot afford to pay his many bills while recovering from surgery. Doctors estimate that without any complications he will be out of work between six and twelve weeks. This incredible burden for Kyle will mean he will be unable to pay his basic living expenses while he recovers. $3500 will guarantee his rent is paid, utilities stay turned on, bills for his phone and other necessities are paid and that he will be able to purchase food to eat for up to twelve weeks. Kyle has been such a great supporter of our community. He has always been an active volunteer with The Frederick Center and specifically has helped with Frederick Pride each year. The goal here is a simple one: we want to take one critical burden off of Kyle while he goes through this moment in his life. We hope that he will be able to relax, get his surgery, and rest afterward without worrying about whether his water will be turned off or if he will be able to afford to eat that day.
